Commissioning a proud day for the whole family

“This is a big day for the students, and a proud one for their families,” said PSU President Steve Scott. “I love meeting the families and it is touching to hear how appreciative they are of the university’s impact on their sons and daughters.”

Robert Stanley, himself a retired military man, said he was thankful for the support his son received as a member of the ROTC program.

“I’m grateful for the support and mentorship he received at Pitt State,” Stanley said. “The university has been great for him and I’m really excited about his future.”

Cord Stanley has been branched armor and will continue his education at Fort Benning, Ga.

As family gathered around him for photos after the ceremony, Cord said he appreciated the love and support of his family.

“This is the culmination of several years of hard work,” he said. “They have been so supportive. I’m excited about what lies ahead for me.”
