Native American artist, entrepreneur talks of Walking in Two Worlds

In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, Pittsburg State University’s Office of Student Diversity and PSU’s Tilford Group will sponsor a presentation by Gary “Litefoot” Davis at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, in the Crimson and Gold Ballroom of the Overman Student Center.

Gary Litefoot Davis speakingLitefoot, a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, is a nationally recognized Rap recording artist, actor and entrepreneur. In Pittsburg, Litefoot will talk about “Walking in Two Worlds.”

Litefoot began his recording career more than 20 years ago and since has released 10 albums and has worked with an array of music industry icons. His lyrics are used to teach high school & college students in the U.S. and as far away as Germany about contemporary Native American views.

An award winning movie & television actor, Litefoot has appeared in feature films such as, “The Indian In The Cupboard” and “Mortal Kombat, Annihilation.” He has also appeared on the television programs: “C.S.I. Miami,” “Family Law” and “Any Day Now.”

Litefoot owns his own clothing line, “Native Style,” and in 2012 introduced his “FlexArrow” brand of sneakers. He recently released his first book, “The Medicine of Prayer,” an inspirational account of his life and how prayer has helped him achieve his goals.

Lightfoot’s appearance is free and open to the public.
