Summer jazz concert Sunday

Pittsburg State University will offer up some cool jazz to take some of the heat out of summer in a free Pittsburg Summer Jazz Band concert at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 23. The concert, under the direction of Bob Kehle, will take place on the Oval, just north east of McCray Hall.

“Bring a blanket or chair and come hear the great sounds of big band jazz,” Kehle said.

Works from the Glenn Miller band, Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton, Chick Corea and others are on the program.

Performers include: Rusty Jones, Joanne Britz, Alan McKenzie, Jon Bartlow, Alex Wiedemann, Todd Hastings, Travis Laver, Justin Crossman, Dalton Williams, AJ Lee, Chris Goddard, Gage Rogers, Forrest Parr, Luke Warford, Alheli Britez, Dan Bush, Tyler Shelby, and John Ross.
