Pitsco team boosts KRPS

Three members of the Pitsco Media Relations team showed up at KRPS - 89.9 FM Tuesday with an over-sized check and lots of good will for the station, now in the midst of its spring fund drive.

Tom Farmer, communications manager for Pitsco Education, said the departments and teams at Pitsco that meet their goals are in the running to be selected to make donations to the non-profit agencies of their choosing.

“We were one of five teams or departments selected this year,” Farmer said, “and we opted to split the money, $1,038, between KRPS and Wesley House...We recognize the great service that KRPS provides, in part as a radio station that seeks to educate and enlighten, so as an education company, Pitsco is proud to play a small part in their spring campaign.”

KRPS General Manager Missi Kelly said gifts like that of the Pitsco team help move the station toward its goal at the same time they encourage others to add their support for a vital service to the community.

As of Tuesday morning, Kelly said, KRPS had raised more than $14,000 toward a goal of $71,697. The campaign ends at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 21.
