Exhibit features work of Art Department faculty

Since the Renaissance, artists have used the principle of the vanishing point to add depth and perspective to their work. Faculty in Pittsburg State University’s Department of Art have entitled their new exhibit “Vanishing Point” in honor of that perspective and as a way to connect their work to both history and the uncharted future of art.

The PSU Faculty Exhibit opened on March 26 in the University Gallery in Porter Hall and runs through May 1. It features the work of Rhona Shand, Marjorie Schick, Malcolm E. Kucharski, James Oliver, S. Portico Bowman, Janet Lewis, Kyle McKenzie and Deann Norris.

A reception for the artists will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, in Porter Hall.

The University Gallery is open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free. For more information, contact S. Portico Bowman, gallery director, at 620-235-4305.
