Opera presents H.M.S. Pinafore™

The Pittsburg State University Opera Workshop, in conjunction with the PSU Department of Music, will present Gilbert and Sullivan’s “H.M.S. Pinafore” on Friday, Feb. 15, and Sunday, Feb. 17, in Pittsburg’s Memorial Auditorium. The Southeast Kansas Symphony, under the direction of Raul Munguia, will accompany both performances.

The performance on Feb. 15 will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday’s performance will begin at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 dollars for seniors and students under 17, and $5 for groups of 10 or more. PSU students are admitted free.

Patrick Howle, director of the Opera Workshop, described “H.M.S Pinafore” as a “rollicking romp through naval life, class distinctions, and melodramatic villainy.”

Tickets for the performance are available at the PSU ticket office in the Weede PE Building (620-235-4796) or at Memorial Auditorium on the day of the performance.

For further information, please contact Howle at 620-235-4470.
