Over the next six weeks, Pittsburg State University’s Police and Parking Services will issue nearly 7,000 parking permits. This year, a repositionable sticker for windshields will replace the hang tags that the university has used for several years.
“We’re making the change primarily to cut down on costs,” said Mike McCracken, director of Police and Parking Services. “There are other benefits, as well. The stickers can easily be moved between vehicles and they do not obstruct the driver’s vision in the way the hang tags could.”
McCracken said users should place the sticker on the lower left corner of their windshield.
All students, faculty and staff at PSU are required to have parking permits to park on campus. For students, the cost of the permit is included in their fees. McCracken advises students to have their online parking registration completed before they arrive on campus.
“It’s just one more thing they won’t have to worry about when
they arrive,” McCracken said.
