Organizers Isaac Hernandez (Music Department) and Frida Herrera of (Hispanics Today) founded the festival in 2024 to showcase students, faculty, alumni, and community members, and to bring in noted guest performers to share their culture and music.
It is held each year during Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs mid-September through mid-October.
Concerts rotate among several venues including McCray Hall (home to the Music Department), the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts (a large concert venue used by the Music Department), Memorial Auditorium (downtown) and other indoor and outdoor venues in Pittsburg.
