Study French Teaching Certification

Major in Modern Languages with an Emphasis in French Teaching Certification

Inspire students to learn French and broaden their cultural horizons with a French Teaching Certification emphasis. This emphasis prepares students to become language teachers in K-12 public school settings and equips them with the necessary background knowledge and skills to create a supportive learning environment. Students will also gain a deeper understanding of Francophone cultures to pass on to their students. Students will spend their last semester teaching under the supervision of an experienced, licensed teacher.

Prior Language Experience

The Modern Languages Retro-Credits Program rewards students for significant prior language experiences, such as high school coursework or language spoken at home. Students who desire credit for language proficiency they acquired before coming to PSU should consult with the Modern Languages faculty.
