The Master of Arts Degree with a Literature emphasis provides students with opportunities to analyze great works, develop research and critical thinking skills, and hone writing techniques and communication skills through coursework in research methods, theory, and literature. Classes focus on literature, including well-known authors, time periods, genres, themes, and special topics in global literature.

Students selecting this emphasis may be preparing for doctoral studies in English or professional degree programs in business or law. High school teachers, on the other hand, may select this emphasis to update their teaching credentials and qualify them to teach dual credit courses at the high school level.
