At Pitt State, History Education majors analyze historical sources, interpret narratives, and evaluate differing perspectives. By graduation, develop a great understanding of the human experience across history.
The history education curriculum at Pitt State is comprehensive and effective. Our program is accredited by both the Kansas Department of Education and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation
Upon successfully passing state teaching exams, graduates of this program receive a license to teach a range of subjects including History, Government, Geography, and Economics.
A distinctive aspect of our curriculum is a semester-long teaching opportunity within local schools. This includes shadowing licensed teachers in public schools and gradually transitioning into an independent teaching role.
