His office expands the university’s research capacity, identifies grant opportunities, and provides full support throughout the entire grant lifecycle, from application to close-out.
“We connect faculty and students with external funding sources, providing support for research projects that foster innovation, collaboration, and solutions to global challenges,” he said.
The office is part of the university’s division of Research + Economic Development.
The Infrastructure Award, worth $25,000, aims to enhance research capacities at Pitt State, increasing opportunities for funding and expanding the research portfolio.
The award is open to all departments and schools at Pitt State.

Up to 10 Research Awards, each worth $5,000, are awarded annually. The awards provide crucial seed funding for cutting-edge research initiatives led by faculty and researchers, facilitating the pursuit of larger external grants.

The office also provides a number of resources directly to students, including training in data visualization, research communication, strategies for crafting strong MS thesis projects, and conference travel support to help students present research to the broader academic community.
Eight Travel Awards per year, each worth $500, empower student researchers by funding their participation in conferences, amplifying the university’s presence and influence in academic and professional circles.
The Publication Support initiative, given to as many as 10 students per year, helps them cover up to $100 each in publication fees for research in which they are listed as authors. This program promotes academic excellence by reducing financial barriers, encouraging students to share their work and engage with the global scholarly community.
The 2025 Pitt State Research Colloquium is planned for April 10 in the Overman Student Center. Abstracts are being accepted until March 10 and presentations until March 25.
