Edgar Award-winning author Lou Berney calls it “a moving and elegant exploration of grief and forgiveness…riveting from first page to last.”

While on campus, Squires also will discuss the craft of fiction writing with students and faculty.

“We’re thrilled to have Squires visit campus this semester,” said Associate Professor of English Chase Dearinger. “She’s a talented writer and fantastic creative writing teacher and we’re lucky to have her.”

Squires also is the author of the novels “Along the Watchtower,” which won the 2012 Oklahoma Book Award for Fiction; “Live from Medicine Park,” a 2018 Oklahoma Book Award finalist; and the short story collection “Hit Your Brights.”

Her short stories have appeared in Guernica, The Atlantic Monthly, Shenandoah, Identity Theory, Bayou, Dublin Quarterly, and This Land, and a number of other magazines.

The reading will be held in the basement of the Wilkinson Alumni Center at the corner of Ford and Joplin streets. A reception will follow.
