The accreditation was by the Accrediting Council for Collegiate Graphic Communications.
“Our program is one of just eight in the country to hold that accreditation, and one of just nine internationally, making this an especially noteworthy designation of which we can all be proud,” said Professor Doug Younger.
The program is one of just 18 in the U.S. It is the only program of its kind in Four State region of Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas that provides students with hands-on instruction in print production and management, including emphasis areas in Graphic Design, Photography and Videography, Print Media and Packaging Design, and UX/UI and Web Design.
To qualify, a visiting team of expert peers verified that the program met the rigorous standards set by the ACCGC.
The accreditation provides transparency into the inner workings of graphic communications degree programs, noted Dan Wilson, managing director for ACCGC.
“Websites or reputation can make any program look good, but accreditation assures everyone that the program meets the highest standards,” Wilson said.
