Families invited to participate in Family Day at Pitt State 

Pittsburg State University will hold Family Day, a tradition since 1993, on Sept. 23, with a day of activities for Gorillas of all ages culminating in a football game at Carnie Smith Stadium and the recognition of the Honorary Family. 

Those planning to attend the children’s event should register by noon on Sept. 22. Families planning to attend also are advised to purchase tickets to the game soon; they’re going quickly.

Enjoy free donuts sponsored by Barnes & Noble! The store will offer a Family Day discount of 10 percent off purchases of Pitt State apparel and gift items in person, and online with code SPIRIT23. Some exclusions may apply.

Current students and their families may join representatives from the Campus Activities office for a free brunch, photo ops, and fun make and takes. RSVP here.

Family Fun Day for children 
Join in various children’s activities and get a PSU freebie and a meal voucher for select food vendors at GorillaFest. Activities are designed for children 3 to 12 years of age. Activities are designed for children 3 to 12 years of age and include interactions with live animals from Nature Reach, training like a cadet with ROTC, exploring science and technology with Pitsco, and discovering artistic masterpieces with a scavenger hunt. Children 2 and under are welcome to attend. The cost is $12/child. Registration is required. Register here. GorillaFest is the official PSU tailgate before all home football games, featuring live music from The Jetz, food vendors, inflatables, balloon animals, splitface tattoos, and more!

Gates Open & Gorilla Walk 
Gorilla Village 
Fans begin lining the pathway between the Plaster Center and Carnie Smith Stadium to cheer on Gorilla football players and coaches as they enter “The Jungle." Players and coaches reach up to touch the hand of the bronze Champion Gorilla for luck. Directly after the Gorilla Walk, the Pride of the Plains Marching Band, the Pitt Cheer Squad, and the Crimson and Gold Dancers perform for all to enjoy.
