Saturday is Move-In Day in the Residence Halls! Staff and faculty will volunteer to help students move in starting at 9 a.m. and will continue throughout the day. Vice President of Student Life Jason Kegler is excited that this year will look “normal” again, with no COVID testing procedures and no significant restrictions. He’s also excited that numbers are up. We’re anticipating 1,000 students to live in the residence halls this year. If you’d like to cover this on Saturday, please let Jason know about what time you plan to arrive, and he can direct you to a location. Email ckegler@pittstate.edu or call 620-235-4945 ON FRIDAY (he’ll be helping with Move-In on Saturday and not checking email).

Area businesses, agencies, and organizations from throughout Pittsburg will set up booths across the Oval (the greenspace at the heart of campus) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to share with students what services and activities they offer. Many will give away samples, some will give away prizes, and all have the goal of connecting with students — especially those are new here — and making them feel welcome. Contact: Eva Sager, esager@pittstate.edu or 620-235-4794, or feel free to drop by.

The PITT Pal program will hold a kick-off activity for international students at 7 p.m. Friday in the Ballroom of the Overman Student Center. PITT Pal pairs international students with domestic students based on common hobbies and interests. At the kick-off event, students will meet each other and play ice breaker games. As the semester progresses, they’ll hold seasonal activities like pumpkin carving that introduce international students to U.S. culture and allow domestic students to learn from their new international friends.
