PSU announces newest Phi Kappa Phi initiates and local and national award winners 

Fifty-six Pittsburg State University students, along with one faculty member and one staff member, were initiated into the university chapter, Chapter 231, of the nation’s oldest, largest, and most selective all discipline honor society, Phi Kappa Phi, this spring. 

Phi Kappa Phi

Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Juniors must have completed at least 72 credit hours, with at least 24 semester hours at their current institution, and rank in the top 7.5 percent of their class. Seniors must have completed at least 90 credit hours, with at least 24 semester hours at their current institution, and rank in the top 10 percent of their class. Graduate students with a 4.0 GPA and at least 24 graduate semester hours qualify, as do faculty and professional staff who have achieved scholarly distinction.

A faculty member, Jason Reid, associate professor in the Department of Graphics and Imaging Technologies, and a staff member, Angela Ashmore, administrative specialist in the Department of Engineering Technology, also were chosen for initiation.
