On Saturday, they’ll ride in the Homecoming Parade and will be recognized in a ceremony at the football game.
Homecoming Royalty were Sam Eddington, a senior biology major from Columbus, Kansas, representing the Honors College Association, and Becca Brown, a senior nursing major from Joplin representing Alpha Sigma Alpha.
Eddington, who is the president of the Honors College Association, was described by peers in his nomination letter as someone with integrity who is respected by students and faculty alike for his maturity and contributions to campus. He the vice president of Natural Ties and president of the Biology Club.
Brown, who has held multiple chapter positions in her sorority, was described by peers in her nomination letter as a crucial member of the organization and a role model whose dedication inspires women. She was praised for her positive personality and kindness to all.
First attendants were Cale Chapman representing PEERS – Pitt Educational Encouragement and Resource Specialists – Mentoring Program, and Marci Heatherly representing Honors College Association. Chapman is a junior from Mission majoring in communication. Heatherly is a junior from Girard majoring in secondary English education.
Second attendants were Isaias Olson, representing Lambda Chi Alpha, and Sydney Martinez representing Student Government Association. Olson is a senior from Overland Park majoring in nursing. Martinez is a senior from Webb City majoring in political science.
