Pitt State gets high marks for low costs

Pitt State got national recognition last week as being a bargain value, according to a new study from the financial advice website, SmartAsset.

The study ranked colleges in categories such as tuition, student living costs and retention rate, starting salary of graduates, and average scholarships and grants. Pitt State was among the top three among universities in the state of Kansas.

Pitt State’s low tuition, at $7,298 per year, contributed to its high overall ranking. Student housing costs also were the lowest of any of the 10 schools that made the list.

Average starting annual salary of PSU graduates: $48,000.
