About Dr. Troy Comeau
Dr. Troy Comeau, a lifelong resident of Carthage, Missouri, joined the Pittsburg State staff in the fall 1998. Before arriving here, he spent two years teaching at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin.
In 2003, Dr. Comeau was appointed Director of Media Production at Pittsburg State. During his tenure, Communication majors have received awards at both the state and national levels for their work in audio and video production. In 2020, Dr. Comeau's Sports Broadcasting students earned "Best Live Sports Broadcast" in the National Student Production Awards sponsored by College Broadcasters Inc. The following year, Dr. Comeau was awarded the Faculty Best of Competition award from the Broadcast Education Association in the category of "Video Sports Event Direction and Production".
Outside the classroom, Dr. Comeau enjoys playing softball, spending time with his wife Lorie and son Jesse and rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Dr. Comeau was honored with the 2013 Robert K. Ratzlaff Outstanding Faculty Award by the Student Government Association from student nominees of faculty that demonstrate excellence in instruction and service to students on campus. He has also served as a past President of the Broadcast Education Association's Sports Division.
