Event details
One of four concerts in the Pitt State Music Department’s Summer Concert Series, it will feature Jopará Ensemble which performs music from Paraguay blended with harmonies and rhythms from around the world. The word “jopará” is the colloquial language used in Paraguay, a blend of Spanish and Guarani. This idea of blend, or Jopará, is what the ensemble portrays through their music, combining traditional with more contemporary elements to create a unique sound.
The concert series includes:
June 6 - Chamber Music Potpourri
June 13 - Pittsburg Community Band and Summer Youth Band
June 20 - Vocal Recital in the Miller Theatre
June 27 - Jopará Ensemble: Paraguayan Music
All concerts in this series begin at 6 p.m. in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts and are free.
