Event details

The Southeast Kansas Symphony at Pittsburg State University has postponed the outdoor lawn concert it had planned to open its season and will instead open with a virtual, pre-recorded concert at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 20, to be streamed by the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts at Pittsburg State University.

The concert, “A Concert of Hope,” is under the direction of Raul Munguía. The playlist will include music from movies, musicals, and classical works. In addition to PSU music students who are members of the symphony, it will feature a special performance by alumni of the PSU Music Department now living in Japan, Colombia, Paraguay, and many states in the U.S.

“All musicians will record their parts from their dorm rooms, practice rooms, and homes, to deliver a one-of-a-kind virtual experience for the audience,” Munguia said.

The concert will be streamed at Facebook.com/bicknellcenter and at pittstate.tv, and will be aired on CAPS 13 TV.
