Online Coursework

Coursework in the TTED program is designed for working professionals unable to attend face-to-face classes.  Content is delivered 100% online in both synchronous and asynchronous format.  Synchronous courses meet 1-4 times in a semester on either a Tuesday or Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm (Central Time Zone).  All courses are facilitated in the Pittsburg State University learning management system, Canvas.

Emphasis Information

The Associate of Applied Science in Career and Technical Education (AASCTE) degree is designed for individuals with work experience in industry and technical hours from either a community college, technical school, or technical training wanting to teach in secondary or post-secondary CTE programs. Individuals with two or more years of work experience and industry credentials are awarded 12 credit hours for their degree. Technical coursework or approved industry credential can substitute as credit for prior learning to provide the 18 credit hours of technical electives. This provides a jumpstart for students toward the 60-credit hour degree. Major requirement courses focus on developing the skills of a teacher to transfer industry expertise to educational experiences for students.
