An online RN to BSN program is designed for registered nurses who already hold an ADN or a diploma in nursing and want to further their education by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
Our program is ranked #1 in Kansas and #3 nationally by RegisteredNursing.org. Pitt State equips RNs with the skills, knowledge, and critical thinking abilities needed to excel in various healthcare settings and to pursue leadership roles within the field of nursing.
Over a three-year period, the RN to BSN program saw a retention rate of 93.4% and an attrition rate of 6.52%.
Our professors dedicate themselves to crafting an engaging online curriculum, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Our online program is tailored to the needs of students juggling the demands of full-time employment and family responsibilities.
Career Advancement: Many healthcare institutions prefer or require RNs to hold a BSN for roles in leadership, management, and specialty areas.
Expanded Job Opportunities: Some nursing positions, particularly those in specialized areas like critical care, pediatrics, and oncology, may require or prefer candidates with a BSN.
Higher Earning Potential: On average, BSN-prepared RNs tend to earn higher salaries than those with only an associate degree in nursing (ADN).
Patient Care Quality: Research has shown that hospitals with a higher proportion of BSN-prepared nurses often provide better patient outcomes and lower mortality rates.
Future-Proofing Your Career: As healthcare practices and policies continue to evolve, having a BSN can future-proof your career by ensuring you meet educational requirements that may be instituted in the future.
At PSU, we offer licensed Registered Nurses the opportunity to earn their baccalaureate degrees in an accelerated timeframe.
RN-BSN students complete upper-division nursing courses in just three semesters of full-time study. For those who prefer a more flexible schedule, part-time study is also available, allowing nurses to complete nursing courses over several years.
Accelerate your BSN degree alongside your ADN. You can kickstart your Bachelor of Nursing by enrolling in two Pitt State courses during your second year of the ADN program.
Students who have completed one year of ADN coursework are eligible for the jumpstart option at the following colleges:
