PSU professor elected to national investment casting board

The Investment Casting Institute (ICI) recently announced that Pittsburg State University Professor Russ Rosmait has been elected to serve a two-year term on its national board of directors. Rosmait, a professor in engineering technology, is the first person from academia to be elected to the ICI board in the institute’s nearly 60-year history.

Russ RosmaitThe ICI is a nonprofit corporation that exists to promote quality standards, collect and disseminate information about the investment casting industry and provide industry education opportunities to its members.

Rosmait has been the Foundry Educational Foundation (FEF) key professor at PSU for the past 25 years. He is the faculty adviser for the American Foundry Society (AFS) student chapter at PSU and is active with the AFS Tri-State, Mo-Kan and Plains States chapters.

The ICI was established in 1953 and consists of approximately 200 companies, half of which are casting (regular) members and half of which are supplier (affiliate) members. Although the majority of the institute membership comes from the U.S. and Canada, membership also includes investment casters and suppliers from throughout the world.
