Pittsburg State University launched a new crop of graduates into the world with its winter commencement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 18. More than 580 undergraduate and graduate students were eligible to participate in the ceremony.
We all know the world has dramatically changed over the past 18 months, with the economy just now beginning to show signs of recovery," President Steve Scott told the graduates. "I believe, and I hope you do as well, that your future is better, even in these difficult times, because your life's journey has passed through this special place. The future will require you to be resilient, adaptable, and persistent. I trust these are characteristics that have become a part of who you are, because of your time with us."
The ceremony was the first PSU commencement to be streamed live over the Internet. At various times, viewers were logged on from across the U.S., as well as Argentina, Paraguay, Taiwan, India and Saudi Arabia.
