Choir cuts holiday CD

December 10, 2009 12:00AM

The Pittsburg State University Choir has recorded a new CD that they hope will help them get to Ireland for a concert tour in the spring.

The new CD, "Winter Gifts," has 17 tracks for the holiday season, including traditional Irish, American, English and French tunes for Christmas and Hebrew and Israeli melodies for Hanukkah.  In addition to "Winter Gifts," the choir also has copies of its 2007 CD, "Sounds of Winter," for sale. "Sounds of Winter" is comprised of 18 tracks of carols and traditional Christmas tunes.

All of the songs on both of the CDs are performed by PSU's University Choir under the direction of Dr. Susan Marchant.

The CDs are $15 each and are available through the PSU Music Department at 620-235-4466.
