The Pittsburg State University peer health education group, Gorillas in Your Midst, along with the Office of Student Prevention and Wellness, Student Health Services and the Crawford County Health Department have joined to observe World AIDS Week Nov. 28-Dec. 1.
This week, sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, on loan from the Tulsa Area Names Project, will be on display from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day in the Point (northeast corner) of the Overman Student Center. Included with the display of the quilt will be free information on HIV-AIDS and its prevention.
On Dec. 1, which is observed internationally as World AIDS Day, the Student Health Center will provide free, anonymous HIV-AIDS testing. Students may make an appointment by calling the Student Health Center at 620-235-4452. Walk-ins will be seen and tested based on appointment availability.
