Speaker:Restorative Justice. Rev. Thea Nietfield will come to speak on campus. The presentations and workshop will present differences between conventional and restorative justice; involve participants in practice circles, and offer application models from Kansas and around the world.  Faculty members are encouraged to bring their class to 107 Grubbs Hall on Thursday September 11th at 2:00 p.m.

Speaker: The Diversity Office will host Mercedes Ramirez Johnson, and inspirational speaker who talks about “second chance living” as their main Hispanic Heritage month speaker.

2014 Tilford Conference on Diversity and Multiculturalism will be held on October 20-21 at Emporia State University. Please mark your calendars. This year's theme is "Diversity Practices: Transforming Curriculum & Campus Life."

Speaker:Joy Harjo, poet and member of the Muskogee Tribe, is the author of many books, including A Map to the Next World, The Woman Who Fell From the Sky, In Mad Love and War, Secrets from the Center of the World, She Had Some Horses, and How We Became Human New and Selected Poems: 1975 – 2001. Harjo will be appearing at 8 p.m. Thursday, November 13, in the Crimson and Gold Room of Overman Student Center.

Activity: BaFa BaFa cross cultural simulation will be held on November 13, 2014. The activity will be held in Grubbs Hall 103 and 113 from 3:30 to 5:00pm, hosted by Grant Moss and Harriet Bachner. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn how to conduct this fun cross cultural learning experience and to help your students extend their understanding about the complexity of integrating into a different culture.
