Fellowship Application Announcement from PSU

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi currently awards fifty-one Fellowships of $5,000 each and six at $15,000 each to members entering the first year of graduate or professional study. Each active Phi Kappa Phi chapter may select one candidate from among its local applicants to compete for the Society-wide awards.

Pittsburg State’s Phi Kappa Phi Chapter will be accepting fellowship applications to select a local candidate until March 31, 2017. In order to be considered, all application materials must be received in the PSU President’s Office (207 Russ Hall) by 4:30 p.m. on March 31, 2017.


PSU Chapter meetings will be posted here when scheduled.  All PKP members invited.

Apply for Phi Kappa Phi Grants and Awards

Applications are now available for the 2017 Phi Kappa Phi award programs. The Society's award programs give $1.4 million each biennium to outstanding students, members and chapters. The awards provide everything from $15,000 Fellowships for graduate study to $500 Love of Learning awards for continuing education and professional development.

Pittsburg State University Phi Kappa Phi Announces 2017 Initiates and Award Winners

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is pleased to announce the 2017 initiates into the Phi Kappa Phi Chapter at Pittsburg State University, Chapter 213. Their Initiation Ceremony was held at Pittsburg State University in the Crimson & Gold Ballroom at the Jack H. Overman Student Center at 3:00 p.m. on April 9, 2017.  Local chapter president, Dr. Peggy Snyder, presided over the ceremony.  The program included opening remarks by Dr. Steve Scott, President of Pittsburg State University and guest speaker, Dr. Mary Carol Pomatto, Dean of College of Arts and Sciences and University Professor in the Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing at Pittsburg State University.

Award Winners for the 2017-2018 Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 213 Scholarship is Lacey Kay Greve and the Chapter’s nominee for the 2017 PKP International Fellowship Award is Katelyn Flood.

PSU Faculty Initiates for 2017 are Leah R. Childers, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics; Charles E. Phillips, Assistant Professor in the Department of Technology and Workforce Learning; Jeff Poe, Instructor and Executive in Residence in the Department of Management and Marketing; and Judy Barbara Smetana, Assistant Professor in the Department of Technology and Workforce Learning.
