
The Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation offers a Master of Science degree in a convenient online format. The degree is available to students from many different undergraduate backgrounds including education, business, and recreation. Within the program, students may select from three different emphases:
- Human Performance and Wellness - Prepares students possessing education, health, exercise science, or similar degrees for careers in education, community, and private settings.
- Sport & Leisure Service Management - Prepares students possessing recreation, education, business or similar degrees for management careers in sports, leisure, and education settings.
- General Emphasis - Provides students the opportunity to develop a broad background in health, human performance, and recreation professions.
This program is designed to prepare students for careers in the field of sports, physical education, wellness and recreation. Students who choose the Human Performance and Wellness or the Sport and Leisure Service Management emphasis will be required to complete an internship as part of their degree program, gaining invaluable experience in the field of HHPR.
