The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), secondary with an emphasis in special education, is an online, innovative program for special education paraeducators who hold a BS or BA degree in a non-teaching content area and seek licensure to teach education in an adaptive, secondary setting.
To be eligible for the program, a candidate must have at least 1 year of experience as a paraeducator in a school district, be currently employed and remain employed as a paraeducator in a 6-12 adaptive setting for the duration of the program.
