As best practices and laws may change fairly frequently, prior to beginning a search, the committee chair should review the updated Policies and Procedures for a Sucessful Search, and the remaining members of the committee should review the Search Committe Training Handbook. These documents give the specifics of what is expected when conducting a search. (Reminder: all members of search committees should have participated in a short training session  before starting a search.)
