Position Responsibilities: The College of Technology at Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure earning position in the College as the Associate Dean. The College of Technology is housed in the Kansas Technology Center and includes four departments and one school, Automotive Technology, Engineering Technology, Graphics and Imaging Technology, Technology and Work Force Learning, and the School of Construction. The College is home to 98 full-time faculty and staff that support 1675 students in 32 distinct Kansas Board of Regents/Pittsburg State University approved programs/majors. The programs in the College of Technology have a strong connection to industrial applications and are nationally accredited and/or considered among the best in the nation. The Associate Dean will report to the Dean and work in collaboration with the Department/School Chairs with a primary role of maintaining the academic excellence and integrity of the College of Technology Programs. In this role, the Associate Dean will manage operational activities of the College that relate to and include, but are not limited to, curriculum modification, academic reporting, academic committees, student actions, College operational and equipment accounts, scholarships, facilities and equipment, College staff appointments and performance, faculty appointments, performance appraisal, promotion and tenure review, etc. The Associate Dean must be qualified for a tenured/tenured-earning position on one of the programs of the Departments/School and will have regular teaching assignments in that area.

Minimum Requirements: An ideal candidate will: • meet the academic terminal degree requirements of one of the College of Technology Departments or the School of Construction • have a minimum of three years of relevant industrial experience. • have a minimum of three years of experience in an academic leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral level degree in an area closely related to one of the program areas of the College of Technology’s School of Construction or four Departments, Automotive Technology, Engineering Technology, Graphics and Imaging Technology, and Technology and Work Force Learning.
