Assistant Professor - Teaching and Leadership

Appointment Duration: 9 Month

Position Responsibilities: The position includes, but is not necessarily limited to, teaching graduate special education courses and other undergraduate and/or graduate courses, on or off campus, as needed by the department; advisement of graduate and undergraduate students; engaging in research/creative activity; serving on university, college, and departmental committees. Courses may be delivered through a variety of methods including online, hybrid, and face-to-face.

Minimum Requirements: • Earned doctorate in education with special education emphasis (ABD considered) • Five or more years successful PreK-12 special education teaching or equivalent work with adults with disabilities in the United States • Experience with students with adaptive (mild/moderate) and functional (moderate/severe) learning needs • Ability to integrate educational technology into coursework (courses will be taught online) • Ability to work collegially within the department and university • Ability to teach graduate courses in special education

Preferred Qualifications: • College level teaching experience • Meet qualifications for license with special education endorsement in Kansas • Evidence of scholarly and creative achievement
