Position Responsibilities: The Assistant Director - Payroll is responsible for providing strategic direction for and managing the daily operations of the GUS HR Payroll. GUS HR is an Oracle Cloud product. The position performs functional and technical support for the on-going maintenance, including improvements and enhancements, of GUS HR Payroll. The position also determines, designs and implements business processes as needed. This position will facilitate configuration of GUS Payroll, including the creation of analytics and reports based on detailed dialogues with University stakeholders. The position coordinates activities and business processes from GUS HR and Finance that involve payroll processing. It also requires coordination with State of Kansas personnel. Duties require a high degree of concentration, planning and coordination to achieve accurate and timely results. With complete autonomy on a daily basis, employee is expected to provide quality customer service and be a positive leader to other staff. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or related field. Four years of experience in business, accounting and/or financial management in a complex organization. At least three years of experience in payroll working with modern payroll system (e.g. PeopleSoft, ADP, etc.) Significant experience with Microsoft Office, including excel. Ability to learn how to write OTBI and BI analytics and reports. Ability to learn SQL.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Higher Education institution
