Position Responsibilities: Manages a diverse Personal Training and Group Fitness (PT/GF) program that meets the demands of the university community while also promoting teamwork, active lifestyles and leadership skills. Duties & Responsibilities: Develop, plan, implement, organize and administer a comprehensive personal training and group fitness program (PT/GF). which includes but not limited to: - Group fitness classes, personal fitness training, fitness assessments and fitness related special events. - Provide fitness assessments and exercise prescriptions for students and members. - Schedule Student Recreation Center (SRC) group exercise classes and activities. - Order, inventory, inspect, and maintain individual, group exercise and personal training equipment. - Recruit, hire, train, schedule and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of 15+ student employees, part-time employees and a Graduate Assistant. - Teach scheduled classes on an as needed basis. -Conduct tours of the facility; demonstrate the use of equipment. - Research and implement national, industry, local guidelines and risk management programs and protocols. - Research industry trends and assess new and current programming. - Work collaboratively with various campus units. - Serve on a rotating basis as manager on duty of the recreational facilities

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Physiology or Kinesiology or related field. Strong organizational, management, written and verbal skills. Two years documented PT/GF programming and instruction; Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current group exercise trends as well as fitness testing and prescription practices and procedures. At least one of the certifications listed below for each discipline (PT & GE). Certifications/Licenses: National Personal Training certification by NSCA, ACE, ACSM, or equivalent. National Group Exercise Instructor certification by NSCA, ACE, ACSM, or equivalent. First Aid, CPR/AED.

Preferred Qualifications: All the above along with experience working in university/college recreational setting or multiple years working as personal trainer and or group fitness instructor.
