Position Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities include commercial art courses that require the specific skills and knowledge in the following areas: Illustration Materials and Methods; Narrative and Sequential imagery development; Concept and Character Design: Illustration Portfolio and Professional Practices Development. Some additional responsibilities may include participation in reviews, recruitment, and other departmental assignments as required and service to the college, university, community, professional development, and input into continual development of the Illustration/ Sequential Art program with consideration for the limitations of the position appointment.

Minimum Requirements: Candidates must have an MFA (terminal degree) in Illustration, Sequential Art or related fields (equivalent professional experience will be considered). Qualified candidates should have a firm knowledge of the field of illustration in both traditional and contemporary venues. The candidate should demonstrate strong drawing and composition skills, fluency in relevant illustration media, techniques and tools including digital media (specifically Adobe Creative Suite). The desire to explore new and emerging technologies are a must. Commitment to teaching and professional achievement is expected.

Preferred Qualifications: It is preferred that qualified candidates will have successful college and university teaching experience.
