Position Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations, the Assistant Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations works with the University Advancement team and the entire PSU community to strengthen relationships with alumni and friends of Pittsburg State University, serving to help fulfill the institution’s mission. The Assistant Director implements alumni and constituent programming and events while constantly reevaluating and reacting to changing needs and trends. This individual will creatively plan, coordinate, staff and execute alumni and constituent programming across the nation using limited resources. Must strictly follow a planning timeline, provide appropriate feedback on the success of programming and assist in setting and monitoring the budget. Uses current technology including social media, web, email and phone systems to market programming and is constantly striving to market programming in any current mediums available. Works with the alumni database system to keep alumni records current and accurate and to keep track of office data. Works closely with alumni, volunteers, students, staff and the campus community to promote the office and its programming and to gather feedback regarding constituent need. Cultivates relationships with alumni and friends in order to assist with the recruitment of new students, as well as the donation of funds and resources to aid in university initiatives. Additionally, this individual assists in planning, staffing and execution of on-campus events, including but not limited to Homecoming, GorillaFest, reunions, receptions and student programs. The Assistant Director supports the Pittsburg State University Alumni Association Board of Directors as assigned by the Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations. This individual will serve as a key staff member of Wilkinson Alumni Center. Responsibilities include assistance with set-up and tear down of building events, occasionally staffing the facility during evening and weekend activities and other duties as assigned by the Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree; Valid Driver’s License. Experience in alumni and constituent relations programming, event planning, marketing, or similar work. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and coordinate varying programs and experience working with the public. The ability to work as part of a cohesive team unit.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working at Pittsburg State University; PSU Alumnus
