An administrative unit housing multiple disciplines and located in historic Russ Hall, the Department of History, Philosophy, and Social Sciences (HPASS) was formally established in Spring, 2011 with the combination of the previously separate departments of History and Social Sciences. The department has the following undergraduate majors and/or minors, as well as a graduate degree in History:

Educating as well as training, departmental programs equip graduates not only to pursue rewarding careers but also cultivate student capacity for critical thought, moral reflection, and active citizenship. Graduates have pursued advanced degrees, such as:
