Fashion Merchandising includes everything from apparel product development through retailing .  Duties of apparel merchandisers include: selecting and buying fabrics, dealing with color, silhouette, and style trend information, seeking out the most efficient means of manufacturing marketing the product, selling the products to retail buyers, working for a retailer at the corporate level (like at Walmart headquarters, for example), and working at the retail level (in the store, or as a district / regional manager or visual merchandiser)

The Fashion Merchandising option is designed to teach developing professionals the knowledge and skills necessary for successful careers in the fashion industry.

 Program Guide for Fashion Merchandising
