The School of Construction includes degree programs in the field of construction and safety.  Construction Students Group

Construction

Construction Engineering Technology and Construction Management prepare professionals for careers in commercial, residential, and  industrial construction, as well as civil/heavy/highway construction and all supporting industries. These programs focus on modern, professional construction technologies such as computer estimating and scheduling, digital layout using laser/GPS/robotic equipment through the use of real-world construction laboratories.

Safety

If you've ever considered a career in the industrial field, there's one important thing you need to know: safety in the workplace is more crucial than ever. The School of Construction offers a comprehensive sequence of courses leading to a degree in Environmental and Safety Management or a minor in Safety, Health and Environmental Management.

PSU Concrete Bowling Ball Team Finishes Third at International Competition

A team of Pittsburg State University students finished in the top three in the American Concrete Institute’s Concrete Bowling Ball international competition. Concret Bowling Ball Competition 

Pittsburg State School of Construction students Lauren Bohannon, Storm Schnake and Blake Swaggerty finished third overall at the March 23 competition in Reno, NV. They were the top-performing U.S. school, as teams from Mexico and Canada finished first and second, respectively.

The competition challenged teams to demonstrate the effect of fibers in reinforcing concrete. The performance category of the competition put the bowling balls through a mass test, diameter consistency test, bowling test, load test and toughness load test.    Read more




Construct Your Future-Summer 2014 Workshops

A fast paced look at the materials, processes, and design methods involved in the construction industry.  Students will receive first hand experience on material classification and usage.  For children ages 9-14;  attendees must be 9 years old by July 1st!

Level I: July 14-18

1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.



Level II: July 21-25

1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
