The student artists will be presenting their pieces, along with insight into their thoughts and processes in creating the pieces on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 5:00pm in Porter Hall room 103. Reception will follow in the Harry Krug Gallery from 6:00-7:00pm.

"Being someone who has traveled and lived in various places, I have found “HOME” to be more than a place. It’s more than a physical structure where at the end of the day you take your shoes off and relax. It’s more than grandma’s cookies, or a warm embrace. Home is a feeling, or an amalgamation of feelings where you can come to find your self. “HOME” is the feeling of the present moment where you feel and find peace, comfort, and prosperity. If I have to give “HOME” any physical location, I would say it’s the body my soul resides in. This art exhibit was a great collaboration experience among two Pittsburg State University Departments consisting of Wood Technology majors, Art majors, and Alumni. Working together, the participants using their collective skills and team work explored new grounds as artists and craftsman. The meaning or concept of “HOME” for each piece varies as does the meaning to each individual. Each piece displayed should represent and reflect the participating artists, and craftsmen as a harmonious whole. Enjoy!"
