About Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Pi is an international honor society in education, dedicated to scholarship and excellence. The goal of Alpha Zeta Chapter is to promote scholarship, leadership, and service in the area schools and improve education for all students.

Membership Requirements

Membership in the Alpha Zeta Chapter is open to undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty members, and other professional educators. Membership requirements include the following:

Undergraduate

A candidate must:

  1. Have no less than first-term sophomore standing (the equivalent of at least 50 semester hours earned by the end of the term prior to initiation)
  2. Have at least 12 hours (or the equivalent) of professional education courses programmed, in progress, or complete, except in fifth-year credential programs
  3. Be admitted to the Teacher Education Program.
  4. Demonstrate a cumulative GPA ranking in the upper quintile of the institution, school, or college, or have a cumulative GPA of 3.35 or higher for all coursework competed

Graduate

A candidate must:

  1. Full graduate standing at Pittsburg State University
  2. Completed six (6) or more semester hours of graduate work at Pittsburg State University where the student is enrolled
  3. At least 12 hours (or the equivalent) of professional education courses programmed, in progress, or completed except in fifth-year credential programs
  4. A cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher for all graduate coursework completed
