Dr. Jay van Wyk is a Professor in the Department of Management and Marketing.

Dr. van Wyk received a B.A. and B.A. Honours degrees from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He holds three masters degrees: MBA from Purdue University, MBA from Tilburg University in The Netherlands and a Masters in Political Science from University of Pretoria. He holds a D. Phil. in Political Science/International Relations (Pretoria) and a PhD in International Business from Tilburg University in The Netherand

Dr. van Wyk teaches courses in International Business, Cross Cultural Communications and Emerging Markets. His research interests focus on risk --- formation and management --- in emerging markets. He is particularly interested in the impact of risk on foreign direct investment and national competitiveness. He maintains an on-going interest in the interface between politics and business in the international environment. With more than 40 peer reviewed articles and two books, Dr. van Wyk's recent publications have appeared in Business & Society, Long Range Planning, Thunderbird International Business Review, South African Journal of Economics and Management, and, Supply Chain Forum: An International Journal.

He is a member of various professional associations: The Academy of International Business, the International Studies Association, and the South African Institute of Race Relations.
