Participants will learn:
1. Common list of injuries seen in physical therapy patients.
2. Rehabilitation process for specific injuries.
3. How to create a treatment plan.
4. Real life scenarios.
**Attendees will benefit from this workshop by gaining knowledge and understanding of the basic prinicpals of physical therapy practice, and relay the information to secondary students in their classroom. Attendees will receive easy to understand protocols of exercises and descriptions of injuries.
Trudy Hansen attended Northeastern Oklahoma A & M College Physical Therapist Assistant Program and earned an Associates degree in Allied Health in 2007.She received a Bachelors of Science degree in Vocational Technical Education and a Masters of Science in Technical Teaching/Career and Technical Education from Pittsburg State University. Her graduate studies include the completion and publication of her thesis titled: "Clinical Instructors Perceptions of the PTA-Clinical Performance Instrument Assessment of Critical Thinking".
For the past decade, Trudy has practiced physical therapy as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the states of Kansas and Missouri. She has worked as a PTA and a Clinical Instructor in the following environments: regional and critical access hospitals, skilled nursing facility & assistant living, home health and out patient clinics; and served as a Clinical Coordinator and an instructor in a post secondary Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
