TOPICS INCLUDE: - Different types of students they will have in their programs. - Use of advisory committees. - Safety issues within CTE programs. - Use of CTE student organizations. - Dealing with discipline issues. - Developing proper rules and consequences for the CTE lab. - Developing and implementing attendance policies. - Other issues that concern new instructors within CTE. - Participants will leave with instructional materials that they have developed within the workshop along with valuable information as to how to manage a CTE classroom and lab.

COLLEGE CREDIT is available for this workshop, 2 hours graduate and 3 hours undergraduate. To receive credit, teachers must attend a minimum of four days and submit a reaction paper. Graduate tuition is currently $337.00 per credit hour and undergraduate $258.00 (instate only). Enrollment forms will be available at the start of the conference. Total cost for graduate credit is $674.00 and undergraduate is $774.00. Tuition will be due no later than July 28, 2017.
LODGING: Due to the length of this conference, campus apartments will be available for participants. Each apartment has four individual bedrooms with a twin extra long bed, chest of drawers, desk, desk chair, and built-in closet. There is a bathroom for each apartment with 2 sinks, a toilet room, and a shower room. The living room/kitchen area of the apartment has a sectional sofa, full size refrigerator, microwave, sink and television. Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections are also available in each apartment. Also provided is a set of linens including 2 flat sheets, 1 blanket, 1 pillow, 1 pillow case for bed linens and 1 washcloth, 1 hand towel, and 1 bath towel for bath linens. Nightly Room Rate: $35.00 ($175.00 Weekly)
